Dr. Samuel Schlesinger received his Honours Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences Degree and a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree while studying at the University of Western Ontario. While in Dental School, he was the President of the Western Alpha Omega Beta Delta Chapter, an active participant in the Dental Outreach Community Service program, and was part of a dental outreach team that travelled to Nicaragua in the summer of 2014 as well as 2017 to provide free dental care to those in need.
Dr. Schlesinger’s experience working in impoverished communities and assisting underprivileged patients in desperate need of dental care inspired him to take a more active role in providing better access to basic dental care. In addition, Dr. Schlesinger strongly believes in lifelong learning and being on the cutting edge of technology. He has over 700 Continuing Education hours in the past 4 years. That comes out to over 20 years worth of required RCDSO hours!

Dr. Joseph Fairbloom graduated from the University of Toronto Dental School in 1990 and has been here ever since.
Dr. Fairbloom has undergone many continuing education courses, receiving training in endodontics (root canals), periodontics (gum disease), prosthodontics (crowns and implants), and soft tissue laser therapy.

4. Avoid eating hard foods like hard candy or hard ice. Your crown is almost as strong as your natural tooth enamel; however, despite its inherent strength, it is susceptible to wearing down and weakening from usage if used aggressively.

Materials

That said, there are instances when placing a permanent crown on a tooth undergoing treatment is not the best option for that patient.
For example, if your tooth has extensive decay, is cracked, or is sensitive to biting, etc., getting a temporary crown placed on this tooth will allow your dentist to confirm whether you need root canal therapy before the permanent crown placement.
If you have received the permanent crown already, your dentist will need to drill through your permanent crown to do the root canal treatment.
